Trust and Betrayal

The scene in the OVA Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal is truly the epitome and the most poignant part of Kenshin’s life I believe.
I will not say anything more on this so as not to spoil the story for those who are curious to discover it. _{Even thought this image is quite a spoiler in itself…}

I mainly wanted to focus on Kenshin’s emotions of anger and despair but above all, loss.
In the OVA the scene was gory but so as not to go too overboard I had to tone it down a little… but this ends up being the bloodiest picture I ever did.

Finally, the quote doesn’t correspond to the scene in the image but I think it illustrates very well the tragic mood of it all.
